Pencil Lines #95 - Ifa Zainon

This week, Ifa Zainon is guesting for us. How adorable is she? I had a blast! Please visit Pencil Lines for more beautiful works from the other girls. They're simply fab!

We are sponsored by the fabulous Riff Raff!! Boy oh boy, I visited their Etsy shop and just fell in love with the possibilities! So many designs, and a thousand ideas floating in my mind! Thank you Riff Raff!!

I did my work on canvas for Sketch #95, totally inspired by Ashley Calder! And even if I say so myself (*grins*) I think this canvas is yumminess! (Thanks to Indah, I'm can't get the word "yumminess" out of my head). I played with paint, UTEE, glimmer mist, bubble wrap, crackle paint, glossy accent, liquid pearl and my old and forgotten heat gun. LOL. Seriously, that fella is so under utilised!

Some close ups.

The tree chipboard - crackle painted, swapped with some inks, and UTEE-ed.

Prima alpha chipboards - smeared with some liquid pearl. I used my fingers. To say I enjoyed finishing up the canvas, is an understatement. I don't think there's a word for it, actually! LOL!

The heat gun is still on my table, actually. So fun is still to be had. Hope I will be able to share more projects with you soon!! I'll leave you with a beautiful quote I got in my inbox a few days ago, courtesy of Quotations Book.

Happiness... is not a destination: it is a manner of traveling.
Happiness is not an end in itself. It is a by-product of working,
playing, loving and living. ~ Haim Ginott

Don't wake me up. . .

for I'm in a magical place. Where biscuits with lilac jelly will give anyone ability to keep secrets, so you can let it out of your chest, without fearing the other party will blurt it out. Where fried dandelion buds over marigold-petal rice, stuffed with pumpkin blossoms, and rose hip soup ensures your company will only notice the beauty of your home and never the flaws. Where some rose geranium wine will signal you to return to happiness. . . *sigh*

Seriously, that is not the reality. But how nice! Right? Don't tell me you don't, for a second, wish that there is someplace like that?

Bittersweet. I am now reading Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen, very s-l-o-w-l-y as I don't want it to end! But at the same time, I'm sucked into this enchanted world of Claire Waverley and can't wait to turn the page! *sigh* I know, *sigh* again. Boy, I'm so glad I already have her second book, The Sugar Queen on my shelf. Yup, I'm a reader. Has always been and forever will, God's willing. I enjoy going on my little adventures day in and out, without leaving my humble home!

Okay, enough dreaming! Two layouts to share with you :) Both I did for Laine's.

Pencil Lines #94 - Nao Hambo

Cold and wet monday in Singapore. Just thought I'd drop by to share my layout for Pencil Lines #94, featuring Nao Hambo. I love her work! Visit her blog and look at all her gorgeous creations. Its a joy having her guest-ing for us!

Now onto the layout. The current craze right now, is to spend huge portions of the weekend on the spinning wheel. Just keep spinning and spinning and spinning!

Current Craze

You can't really see it in the picture, but i have some dots of Liquid Pearls on the blue SEI paper. This, my friend, is totally inspired by the fantabulous Christine Middlecamp. If you haven't already, please do visit her. I promise you joy and inspirations! Tons of it!

It's only 6.50 pm, but I am ready for bed! Been out the whole day, shopped. . . window shopped. . . met some friends, made a new friend and basically had a fab day out. Well, as fab as a wet and cold monday could be :)

Now, I'm gonna start my stalking activity and maybe add some new CHA items into my wish list *grins*. I hope my favs updated their blog already!
See you soon!!

Urghhhh!

Urmm.. just had to write this down!

You know what? I suddenly feel 'old'! My almost 8 year old is beside me, attending to her Webkinz .. then I heard Hannah Montana's Nobody's Perfect coming out from her speakers. *grins*

I asked her - Where did u get that?
Coz you know, we have the cd, but I can see the cd right beside me... . . *hmmm*
She answered - YouTube!

Goodness gracious. I kept quiet, but I am grinning like a fool, on the inside, of course. Couldn't let her see that, that act of searching for your fav song on Youtube is amusing me to no end. I don't know what's funny anyway, but it tickles me! LOL!

Oh yeah.. the whole family listens to that particular CD (yes, CD, we don't have an ipod coz we're cool like that! ha-ha-ha! yeah.. LOL, maybe someday.) - D.A.I.L.Y, for now at least. (what?!! her songs are catchy! listen for yourself!)

My personal favorite would be Rockstar. Yup... i just said that :)

{Even If}

For OLW.

Urmm... I scare me sometime. I tend to pour my heart out onto my layouts but not in real life. LOL! I like to think that, that is MY way of balancing things up, but God knows if its actually a sickness? *grins*

Even if we’re not all hugs, smiles and kisses, I’m so glad we chose to start this little family of ours almost 10 years ago.

Never for once have I regretted us. Never. Although I don’t say it often, I adore you, I adore my children. You’re my life, my soul.

The photo says it all?

Good mail day, received yummies from the sponsors of Pencil Lines. Collected my July assignment from Laine's. Had a good, comes-from-the-belly-laugh with Betty which make me smile, up until now. (thanks Girl!)

Still very much engrossed in the life of Ellen Parsons, Patty Hewes, Arthur Frobisher and the likes. Had to force myself to switch the tv off and go to bed every single night. Missing Sham, which is a huge shock to Nidhi since I never say "I miss Daddy" out loud to any of them. But yesterday, I was brushing her hair when I told her " I miss Daddy. . . " and she was like, " WHAT??!! WHY??!!" LOL. Must be weird for her. Bless her heart.

If you could, send my girl Stephanie some hugs will ya? J is leaving for Afghanistan in around 24 hours. I admire them a lot.. him for leaving his family, for his country. Her, for everything else. One tough chick, that girl.

One digi layout to share with you... one super simple page. One I did to remind me to slow down and enjoy the ride! Got the quote from one of many inspiring wallpapers from Real Simple.

I need to make a card for someone special. . . guess I'll work on that next.
*still smiling*

Yup, life is good. Life is great in fact.

Have you been. . .

to Pencil Lines lately? *grins* Did you see their announcement? *more grins*

I am beyond thrilled to be on Pencil Lines DT!!!!!! *grins again*. Thank you for the invitation, girls. I'm so honored to be joining all of you!

Come play with us will you? :)

And I have a layout to share too, one I made for Laine's a few days ago using mostly Love, Elsie Josie and Emma products. First layout of our Frisco-seoul trip. (no, I don't scrap in order of events, never have, probably never will. *wink*)

Jump-Jump
There's a booboo on this layout and its glaringly obvious to me! It's kind of irritating in a way, but this 'cover up' is better than the "oops" I made earlier. So I guess I'll live with it.

Love the random bits of hand stitching on this. DMC 321, yes, my kind of red. I miss stitching, probably will start a small project? Maybe I can stitch while waiting for the girls to finish their class, you know, while waiting in the car? Urmmm, that's something worth considering :)
