NSD Challenge - White Space *closed*

Are you ready for some fun scrappy time? Each of the Studio Calico DT Members are posting challenges on their blogs. I said a slew of challenges and I mean it! :) Check them out, yeah? List on my side bar :)

My challenge to you, as I said in my previous blog post.

White Space. Create a layout with white space. Even better if your base is white cardstock. White Space.

My sample layout.

Look Closely

This is an iPhone photo :) Lisa is challenging you to scrap with photos taken by a phone camera, while Maggie's challenge is to use some mist on your layout. Just an example of how you can combine challenges. Yes, you can.

Some close-ups. Not that you need to hang around to see them, if you would rather make your way straight into your scraproom to start playing, I totally understand! Heee!!

Look Closely, can you see us there, in the mirror? :)

I used my fabulous Tiny Attacher (OMG... that thing is seriously, seriously useful. I stapled wood with it!), an Anthology journaling card, some yummy yellow baker's twine, Doily Rub On, lemon mist, some brads, a torn Starbucks coffee cup sleeve (which i inked a little for a bit more of oomph).

I also punched a butterfly, used some other leftovers from my past kits and some items from my personal stash. That felt good, really good!

So okay, that's my take on the challenge. Show me yours. Wanna know what you're playing for? (I am totally channeling my inner Jeff Probst here.) Yes, I do watch Survivor. Think what you want. I'm addicted to reality tv Jeff and Phil Keoghan. Goodness, I'm rambling. Sorry.

Okay, you're playing for a $10 Gift Certificate to Studio Calico. Yes, that amazing place that is running the special on American Crafts adhesive. (scroll down if you missed my last post).

what do you have to do? Easy.
1. Scrap your heart out. You're allowed to combine challenges.
2. Upload your layout to your Studio Calico gallery. If you don't have an account, it just takes a few seconds to register for one. You have nothing to lose :) Come join us.
3. Link your layout to this post. Link must originate from Studio Calico gallery. Links from other source will not be considered.
4. Dateline is 8am EST on May 2nd, 2010. That is 9pm, May 2nd for my Singapore readers. The rest of you, this is the site I use for time conversion.

Winner will be chosen randomly from all eligible entries.

I have a winner for the Coffee Stain Stamp. Yasmin! Congrats, hun! Do email me your mailing address, okay, girl? Email button on the left side bar :)

That being said, Good Luck! I hope you'll have loads of fun on NSD! And oh, Jeff's birthday is just one day before mine. Useless bit of information, I know. Just feel like sharing :) *grins*

Making my list. .

You know, just in case my children wanna buy me something nice for Mother's Day. Yes, just in case. That photo above, me, happy, after a week long vacation, with my favorite necklace.

Up close. Isn't it a beauty? *sigh* I don't mind owning a few more from LuShae Jewellery. This one is a gift from Sarah. Thank you Sarah. The necklace I own is oh so versatile and hardy at the same time. Still as beautiful now as the day I got it in the mail, even after that week in the sun and sand. Close to my heart, that necklace is.

These two are on the top of my list! Children, are you reading this? LOL. :)

Okay, back to scrappy news!

Still making my list, for shopping on Reveal night! I wanna get a couple of this! I heard so many people singing praises for AC This-to-That! What's the best news? There is no limit! You can buy as many as you want and still get that very good deal! Twice the sticky, who can resist? You tell me. :) and oh, btw, please do not add the matching refill to your cart. It will automatically be added upon shipment.

Then it's the celebration time for us, scrappers! National Scrapbooking Day! Studio Calico DT members will have a slew of challenges. Get your scrappy hat on and have fun with us! I'm gonna go ahead and give you a headstart on my challenge.

White Space. Create a layout with white space. Even better if your base is white cardstock. White Space.

Three Sneaks & A Tiny Giveaway

The day after my last blog post, my boxes arrived. Yes, both of them. Joyland and Granny's Cupboard. Double happiness. Truly.

Then. .

Neha got sick. Really sick. Can't-keep-anything-inside-her-sick. We were at the ER, twice in three days. Not fun. I consider myself very very lucky, because Mr.Husband was around. It seems easier that one parent can keep Nidhi company while another stays with Neha. On the 2nd visit to the ER, they wanted to keep her overnight for observation. So she stayed, and Mr Husband had to leave for Barcelona, but she, slowly got better from that point onwards. Thank you, God.

Now let's move on to prettier stuff :) Three sneaks.

close up 2

I used Sunflower Yellow Mist, Fern Green Mist, Silver Plated Mist, and Coffee Stain Stamp for what you can see here. The silver plated mist rocks my world, btw.

close up 2

Happy - stamped Storytime alphabets. You can also see a teeny peek of the yummy Open Scallop Border and the fabulous Large Monarch Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.

Here, I used some Hydrangea Blue and Lemon Mist, and also put my new Zig Zag Chain punch to good use. I am loving all the new EK Success Punches SC has in store. Love. They're stackable, they're slim and hardy at the same time. Love. Did I say love? :)

Now the giveaway. I have an extra set of the Coffee Stain Stamp here. Do you like it? Yes? Just leave me a comment (on my blog, not on facebook) with an answer to this question.

If you could have one thing from the Studio Calico shop, what would that be? One item your heart desires.

Mr.Husband has gone for his marathon training with his friends, I'm gonna make breakfast for our dinner now. The girls love breakfast for dinner. Bread, chicken ham and scrambled eggs are perfect for anytime of the day I say.

I love you - the sneaky kind

and I don't want you to miss these. I'll walk with you , okay? :)

Step one :)

Check out the sneaks. Can we all say YUMMY! :) I can't sit still, I feel like bouncing off my chair because I'm so excited for the impending arrival of my kits.

Like what you see? Send an email to waitinglist@studiocalico.com to secure yours. The kind and beautiful people at SC Headquarters will take care of you.

Step two. Visit the blog for the sneak-night giveaway. It's the oh-so-pretty American Crafts album. You don't wanna miss that.

Step three. Now go and make that cup of coffee or get that tall glass of warm milk. Trust me, you'll need it for when you're doing step #4.

Step Four.

Yes, Anthhology is in the house! Means you can order Anthology to be shipped with your May kits at no extra charge. How sweet is that?

Hang in there, we're still at step four. Homefront, yes, that amazing line SC debuted sometime last year, will not be restocked/reprinted. When they're gone, they're gone. Sad, I know. But rest assured better things are coming your way! Yay!

I'm going shopping for next month. I have a couple of things I wanted to get, like this fab yellow paint, this awesome photo labels punch, wild honey distress ink and 8.5 x 11 page protector! Right now, all my 8.5 x 11 pages are lolling about in the 12 x 12 protectors. Poor layouts!

Step five. Give yourself a hug from me. *grins*

Step six. A layout!

perfection

My family. Perfection. We were actually missing two members when this photo was taken, but what's perfect was our feeling at that time. We were so happy. It was the wedding day of my sister, Nish.

Prima flowers. Stickles.

close up 2

Super old Scenic Route rub on. Misted, punched out butterfly.

close up 3

Cats Life Press stamps, and lots of Hambly all over the layout. :) Love. Love.

Plans for the rest of the day includes Ice Cream, Cake and family love. Perfection, don't you say? :) I'll see you soon.

and oh. You. I love you.

Still alive, still waiting.

First, I must thank you all for the kind words for my Mr. Husband. He enjoyed reading all your comments, I hope he will be inspired to start his own blog soon. A girl can dream for a bit, eh? :)

On the scrapfront, I must say, all the waiting is messing with my head. I'm sure you know the feeling. You wanna scrap but you know a box full chock-full of goodness is on it's way to you, and you would rather wait. *grins* :)

Then a group of wonderful girls invited me to join them. Where to? The Color Room! If you know me, you'll know that I can never say no to colors. No, never. So I jumped in with both feet and played! You'll want to :)

Here's my layout for the first palette.

Sshhh!

Somehow, I think the layout looks better in real life. You just have to trust me on this, or take the next flight out to Singapore and come see it. LOL. I prefer the latter. And oh, I blame myself for the lack of good photos for this layout. I photographed it as the sun was going down on a rainy afternoon, on my kitchen floor. I need to photograph it all over again, but I don't know if i will do it.

close up 1

See that gorgeous wooden frame? It's from Harmonie. They sent me an assortment of beautiful things to use, so you'll be seeing more of their stuff here in the near future. Thank you Harmonie!

The frame was misted to get the color I want.

close up 2

Love this embellished corner. The lovely loopy border punch, some Hambly clear stickers and overlay, and Basic Grey brads and fabric flower that was in the shop at Studio Calico a while ago.

Speaking of my beloved Studio Calico, have you seen the new punches they have in store now? Yummo! I have a box heavier than Neha when she was first born coming my way with all the punches. LOL. Can't wait!!

Next I'm gonna order a bunch of the new Distress Ink Pads! Gotta do it bit by bit, y'know? I don't want my box to explode with all the goodness it has inside.

This is the photo on the layout, love it. Nidhi with her cookie monster eye mask. That girl is really a mini me. We sleep the same way, except I don't have 'baby' with me. *sigh*

It's a beautiful day outside, I'm gonna hang out my laundry, get myself a cup of coffee and settle back here to blog hop! I'll see you soon!
