So CHA is over and done with. I kinda miss the 'craziness' of it all. Even from afar, you can feel the 'buzz' .
And of course I'm biased but I think Studio Calico has the best release. *grins* Have you seen them all? I have been flipping this catalog a lot lately. .
So much goodness, I can't wait to get them in my hot little hands. Obviously, I can't pick one or two as my favorite.. so here we go! *in no particular order*
6 x 6 paper pads from Autumn Press collection.
Scarf - Autumn Press. red & white polka dots and grids, are you kidding me? ♥
New Mister Huey - Memoir. Come to mama. :) I wanna mist my wall with that Clay and Barnwood. So in love with grey now. If you were in the live chat I hosted the other day, you know I'm only half kidding. LOL.
Teal chipboard alphas. Be still my heart. ♥
Love Notes - Memoir. Another staple for my stash.
Cupboard - Memoir. That yellow, got my heart. ♥
Book Jacket - Memoir. Another teal love. Can you see a pattern here? Teal and yellow and grey and teal and yellow and grey? LOL.
Flower bed - Memoir. This one reminds me of home and comfort. Maybe because it looks like a quilt? Love it anyway. And the yellow B side doesn't hurt.
The new Calico Shine. How cool is that? I love that it can be used alone or on top of other mist. ♥
Plano - Classic Calico. You know what? I can see myself stitching the lines. I really can! And I can't wait! ♥
- I still remember this. Falling asleep on my papa's back while he's working. He's a sportswriter and he used to start writing in his notebook or on pieces of paper, while watching sports, no less, before he commit everything to the typewriter. I still remember.
- Now, my papa has a laptop and I can't lie on his back unless I wanna break his bones. LOL.
Do you wanna win a 6 x 6 paper pad from the Autumn Press collection? Just leave me a comment with a childhood memory of yours. Anything at all. I'm sure you remember something.
You have until Wednesday night. I'll close the comment section then, so as usual, as long as you can comment, you're in the drawing.

One of my favourite childhood memories is my (now gone) Grandpa buying sweets only for me :) Everytime I visited my Grandparents he gave me a kiss and a package of "Manner-Schnitten" :D And I gave part of it to their dog *gg*
Recently I've been scanning lots of older pictures and slides, which brought many memories back to the surface. One of my favourite memories is related to my great-great-aunt. Whenever I visited her in winter, we looked out of one particular window that showed the most awesome red/purple/yellow sky. My aunt always told me that this was a sign of the angels in heaven baking biscuits for Christmas :) The funny bit is that the colours were caused by a real bakery that was close to where my aunt lived.
My memories of childhood nearly always involve books! I don't think I was without one wherever I went!
I remember going for bike rides with my dad every Saturday morning before breakfast. And when we got home, my mom and sister would have pancakes waiting for us!
Thanks for reminding us to take a look back to our childhood! Such good memories.
When I was little cars didn't have seat belts in the backseat. So in the summer my dad would flip forward the backrest, put a matress in the back and I could lie there and read books and eat candy. He would drive and we'd go camping, visit the zoo or go fishing. I loved those trips!
I remember one of our camping trips, sleeping in a tent. The ickyness of sleeping in jeans. And then having to get up to go to the "toilet". It was raining... You know those heavy clouds that sometimes follow the rain. Dusk. I I remember my boots in the heather.
Sitting at the kitchen table with my Gram while she cooked. It didn't matter what she cooked--it was always a happy experience! Thanks Sasha!
swimming in our pool everyday during the summer!
Loveeeeeeeeeeeee these goodies!! I can't wait till BlueMoon gets them in! YUM!!!
And one of my Fave Childhood memories is one year Santa brought me a stuffed dog that I named "Mike" (I know, totally random, not a dog name what-so-ever! lol! anyhoo....).... and I carried and slept with that dog till one of the eyes fell out, the stuffing was getting flatter and flatter and his colors faded... I loved "Mike" so much... best present Santa ever brought me! :):):):):):):):):):):):):)
One of my favorite childhood memories was playing in the backyard on the swingset with my great-grandma singing nursery rhymes and the alphabet. We would spend hours out there just singing our hearts out. :)
I remember sliding down the middle of our street on a sled with my dad before the plows came. I was probably about 4 years old. Thanks for the great giveaway!
Favorite childhood memory - going to Storytown (a Disney-like theme park) with my cousin Lori. Thanks for the chance to win! ~Amy Tara~
I remember riding my bike on our country road collecting discarded soda bottles to get the deposit from the corner store. My brother and I would collect enough to buy a chocolate bar to share.
I remember falling asleep on the couch with my Dad...he always joked it was the best spot in the house. Wish I had a picture of it...only in my memory now!
When I was young I wanted a Barbie doll and my mom said no because they were too much money. My dad took me to the store and let me pick out a Barbie. Something I will never forget. Thank you for letting me share.
I just scrapped a LO with a picture of myself and my brother when my younger brother was born. I was 12 at the time and remember it all so clearly :)
I remember driving from TX to Myrtle Beach NC every year for our vacation w/ my moms family. Lots of adventures along the road.
Going to the hairdresser with my Grandma every Friday to get her hair done. Afterwards we would stop at the store and then the park. So simple but feels like yesterday. I only knew her till I was 6 but am so blessed with this memory
I remember my Grandpa teaching me how to play the organ :)
Such great new stuff!! :) I love looking thru older pictures...especially of my family's time in Sicily! Thanks for the giveaway!
Aaah.. I need it.. all of it...
a childhood memory.. Well, I can remember all those campingtrips cathing fish in NOrway.. I never ever got a single fish, but I had lots of fun! =D
Aaah.. I need it.. all of it...
a childhood memory.. Well, I can remember all those campingtrips cathing fish in NOrway.. I never ever got a single fish, but I had lots of fun! =D
One of my favorite memories was when we'd go to visit my grandma gardner. I'd spend what seemed like hours looking through all her costume jewerly. I loved taking all the lids off her lipsticks to see the colors. Then i'd venture into the spare room to see if the cake box was in there. She always kept a cake baked in case company stopped by. My favorite was banana cake with flour frosting. To top that off she'd mix me up a glass of chocolate milk, made with the Hershey's syrup in the can. I miss my grandma.
Just this week I am home visiting family and my Mom hands me something. It's a roll of Love Heart candies. I loved these things as a kid. I didn't know you could even get them anymore! It took me right back to be a little girl again!
One of my favorite childhood memories is of my dad taking my brother and I to the local golf course for strawberry milkshakes. To this day, I still drive by there and I can almost taste those milkshakes.
I <3 that pic....and it made me mist up a little...
one of my favorite memories is of my Daddy too.....I was kind of an anxious child and had lots of bad dreams...each time I went to him my Daddy would take me downstairs in the living room and put on "Bon Voyage Charlie Brown" and we would watch it together until I fell asleep...then he would carry me back to bed....
My absolute favorite childhood memory was Wednesday nights with my dad. He took my sister and I out for ice cream EVERY Wednesday night!
One of my favorite childhood memories is the year my mom surprised me with a New Kids on the Block birthday party! I was sooo in love with them, and so excited that I got all of their dolls! LOL!
I remember walking to the corner store, which we owned, with my sister and buying candy. ;) I felt we were so grown up... walking downtown ourselves! ha ha.
Right now I'm thinking about my mom bringing me yo-hoos and magazines when I was sick since my little man and I am feeling a little under the weather this morning.
So much fun stuff! I've become addicted to 6x6 pads, so thanks for the chance! One of my favorite memories is when I was 7 or 8 and it was summer and my Dad would come home for lunch, I'd run to the end of the block and wait for him to round the corner and then I'd "race" him home.
I remember going with my grandpa to check on the cattle. We'd ride the horse... I couldn't have been but 5 or 6. He'd sing She'll be coming around the mountain to me every single time I went.
I remember hanging out with my Dad all the time in his workshop. He did upholstering as a second job. He'd work shift work, come home, eat breakfast, take a nap, get up, then out to his shop he'd go. I loved watching him at his craft. His work was better than anything you'd ever find in a store. I also had loved his swatch book of materials. It was three feet long and two feet thick. I'd flip through it and feel all the textures and enjoy the colors. I can still remember the smell of the place, even though he retired from it when he retired from his regular job. Love those memories.
After seeing your blog, the Memoirs line tops my list of 'must haves.'
The best childhood memory of mine: the annual beach vacation at a rented cottage. Loved it every year, the only time my Dad relaxed even though sometimes he had to go back and forth to work. He made it special for us kids.
lots of my memories come from my dad taking my sister and I out to experience the world in simple ways like camping and canoeing, art museums-classic and contemporary, and theatres and concerts, from The Music Man and Annie to Elton John and Billy Idol. Thanks for asking.
OH how super sweet your memory :) For me my fav. childhood memeory was when my daddy bought home "Kate" She was my 1st real bike she was green and pretty w/a shiny sweet bell. I remember being so excited and asked my dad to take me to the park so I could learn. I loved it so much I still have the scare to prove that I indeed learned how to ride Kate h(my mom wasn't too happy about that part Ha)
Love all of these collections! So gorgeous!! So much to love. One of my favorite childhood memories is riding my grandparents two seat bicycle with one of my cousins. It was always a trick to figure out who would be steering and where we would go. But half the fun was getting there. My grandparents still have the bicycle and we always reminisce when we go to their house. I hope my girls are big enough one day to enjoy it.
This memory came to mind the other day when my husband had an encounter with a yellow jacket nest. I was about 4 years old and my brother was 10. He was climbing a tree in our backyard and accidentally put his hand in a wasps' nest. He was stung multiple times on that hand. I can remember him being very brave and my dad breaking up his Camels and putting moistened tobacco all over my brother's hand.
I remember running to greet my dad when he came home from work. He'd scoop me up, give me a huge hug, would let me down on to the tops of his feet, then he and I would "dance" into the kitchen to find my mom : )
I remember bringing my brother home from the hospital when he was born. Which, is crazy to me because I was only 3 and 1/2. I can't believe I remember that, but... I do. :)
Thanks for the chance to win! Love Autumn Press!
When my mother would go somewhere that I wasn't allowed, such as a wedding shower, my father would have to watch me. I remember being in his study (now we would call it a home office or man cave)and he would be sitting in his black leather recliner reading a book. I loved sitting at his desk and playing with his drafting tools. The stencils were always my favorite. The begining of my love of paper crafting???
One of my favorite childhood memories was every fall we gathered as a big family to enjoy a hotdog roast and hike at a local park. Sorta like a family reunion. My grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles would all join us in a game of football in the park, hotdogs, smores, and a hike along a walking path.
Oh yeah i wanna win all of those scrumptious goodies, hehe. I dont rememeber much, my dad died when i was just a little eight years old, but i do remember he was a keen gardener {i wish i was as green fingerd} but he collected my finished yogurt pot's & one day i just wanted this one to create something with it, & he said no, i remember shouting at him, but i dont rememebr what now, we'l he won & i threw the yogurt pot at him, it missed but it went over the top of the old twin tub machine's we use to have back in them day's, unlike the washing machines we have today x x
I love Autumn Press, too! I have fond memories of playing with my brother and cousins out in my grandparents' woods.
love the softness of this line!
lately i've been thinking about ,y childhood back in Russia, and how in the summer at our summer house we'd go mushroom picking after the rain, and I'd always try to compete with my mom and aunt to get the most mushrooms. I never won hahaha but always had such a blast.
great favorites :) i am so excited about the collections!
one favorite childhood memory was turning our guest room bed into a boat and going on "adventures" with as many toys/blankets/pillows as we could possibly find. we hated clean-up time, but the fun was worth it!
Bundling up to hang out with my grandfather in the igloos he used to build in his backyard.
One of my childhood memories is taking my banana seat bicycle and riding it as fast as I can down my street to the 7-11 to get a slurpee. Loved that feeling of going super fast and having the wind blow at my face. :)
I remember going for wagon rides with my grandpa and working in the garden with my grandma
I love that I grew up with all my grandparents and some great-grandparents in the same town. I spent so much time with them and they shared a lot of their wisdom with me; obviously at that time I found all the well-meant advice very annoying and old-fashioned. But it is more than appreciated now.
Yay! Growing up, my Mom made everything! Yogurt, dolls and our clothes. I blame her for my creative streak. I remember watching her use the sewing machine, for hours at a time!
One of my favorite childhood memories was going to A&W and having a root beer float. My mom worked so hard two jobs everyday for years...but always made time to have that special moment with me and my brother. This memory is just one of many for me..
Our summer camping trips...pony rides and rowboat trips :)
I so remember when my grandpa took me fishing for the first time and I was devastated when I caught a turtle!
I loved when the ice cream truck rolled around...still do!
I remember on Sunday mornings my dad would make cheeze eggs for breakfast and we all would sit down together for breakfast. That is one of my fondest memories of my dad.
A childhood memory... well since you talked about your dad, I will always remember that my dad helped me tie my shoes - for longer than he should have had to! Thanks for the chance to win!!
Reading all the Little House books while on vacation at the beach!
Can you say "All Skate"?? I loved roller skating! The disco ball and the limbo and hokey pokey!!
Um yes, I would love to win the paper pad, thanks for asking. :) I remember iceskating in our field when the river would flood then freeze every winter. -Alisa
Going to my grandmas every summer, my cousin and I would walk across the street to a little cafe and get a cup of coffee for 10cents, we thought we were so grown up and sneaky but alas we had no one fooled!
My favorite childhood memories all have to do with track and field. Me and my middle sister both participated and had great times traveling to meets with my parents and just having a great time. It was something that always brought the family together
Love, LOVE the new stuff, thanks for the chance to win. Here's a childhood memory, everytime I smell honeysuckly, I remember playing Star Wars with light sabres in my grandparents backyard. So, so fun!
Those SC goodies are truly scrumptious! Childhood memories? Going out to play in the fields and woods with my brother and only coming back home when hungry. We used to play at being Robin Hood, or cowboys or knights.
I remember when my Dad would load all of us kids in to the car on Sunday afternoons for adventures. Whenever we asked him where we were going, he would say "crazy! We're going crazy!"
one of my fav memories is of my great grandmother teaching me how to crochet!! i was only 6 but i still crochet today and love that it was something she passed down to me! i love you mammy!!
First memory that popped into my head: following my big brothers out onto the dewy grass of the golf course next door early one morning in my pi's. Have no idea why they were going, but I wasn't going to be left behind!
I remember being six years old at my much older cousin's wedding. My sister was a flower girl and all the petals blew away before the outdoor wedding started. Since I was doing programs, my dad and I ended up standing at the back, and we had a perfect view of the flower girls sit on the ground and pick grass to fill their baskets during the ceremony. :)
I remember my dad will always bring us to the beach on every Sunday. My mum will cook and we had pinic under the tree. That was really fun.
I love Autumn Press :) I remember running after the ice cream truck with 50 cents so I could get my favorite popsicle :)
That is the cutest picture! I love the new releases - the patterns are gorgeous! I loved when my Grandma would visit our family when I was a kid. She lived far away and is now too old to travel the distance. She would always make us the yummiest food and take such good care of me and my sis. I hope to see her soon!
I remember spending summers at the lake with my family. The warm air and cold lake were awesome. It is a special place for me. I love it there. I hope my family will grow to love it as much as I do.
Oh, this line is amazing!
One of my favorite childhood memories is Summer time. We would always spend the month at the beach with my father stopping by every weekend to stay with us. Good times!
I just love the SC new releases! So much good stuff!
I grew up on a farm and when the corn was picked from the fields my siblings and I would crawl into the bin filled with the dry kernels of corn waiting to be stored for the winter and we'd fill our clothes up with the corn. So funny! We must have looked hilarious and must certainly have been pretty filthy too, but those were such fun times.
Funny, I was just talking about childhood memories w/ my mom! I used to race the cars that passed by on my walk to school to keep myself entertained. :)
Definitely spending time with my grandparents. Thanks for the chance to win!
I spent my summers at my grandmother's house, and I would spend hours watching her cook... of course she never let me help!
Sweet photo. Favorite memory is watching my Grandpa cook....he was amazing at whatever he did...always with heart!!!!!
I love, love, love your choices!
My memory: My dad used to lay on his back -- I'd stand on his hands, and he'd "bench press" me up into the air...felt like a superhero!
I LOVE the new papers! And the Mister Huey's! Childhood memory: Helping my dad build his business - literally - when I was about 4 by using my toy rake to smooth out the gravel in the parking lot.
So many memories, but one I cherish is a game my Grandma played with us called, "Button, Button, Who's Got the Button". We tried making our way up the stairs without being caught with the button in our hand. Just thinking of Grandma makes me smile!
Smiling now,
Karen
I remember swinging on the swings in my backyard as a child and leaning my head way back and pretending like I was IN the sky, instead of tied to a swing. Bliss.
One of my favorite childhood memories is going tot he hardware store with my dad. The store had this old fashioned popcorn machine and if I went with my dad, he would get me a paper bag of the popcorn. It was sort of like our little errand to do together.
I loved sweet pickle sandwiches on fresh white bread with a little butter. In fact, maybe I should have one tonight cause I feel good just thinking about it.
my fave childhood memory is pretending to be wonder women and jumping off of the concrete wall in our backyard and saving the world :)
I remember having a stick pony that i rode all over the neighborhood.
I remember pushing a babydoll stroller with my dachsund puppy "pretzel" inside. She was dressed in baby clothes & had on some of my mom's old cat-eye sunglasses!
Okay, so the Studio Calico products are GORGEOUS, as always.
Loving the bright colors and all the cool and fun patterns. But the kraft and classic collection are still my faves.
Hmm, childhood memory. I was around maybe 8 or 9 and I used to clip my favorite comic strips from the newspaper everyday, Brenda Starr, Garfield, etc. and paste them on mimeograph paper collected in a folder. It got pretty thick before I got tired of doing that everyday.
I guess that was my first attempt at scrapbooking! =)
Love all the teal & aqua in the new releases!
My fave childhood memory is when my grandfather would play the violin to my sister & I. We would sit enthralled watching & listening to him. When he finished the song we would go up to him & give him a coin as "payment" for his playing for us.
Love THE new releases!
I remember the smell of cookies when I went to my grandma's house. I Loved that!
I think all their new releases are great too!! I remember when my sisters and I were kids, we used to do lip sync shows for my dad when we visited him. We had so much fun dancing and "singing" with the music!
I remember bringing home my first puppy dog in an Easter basket. My dad and I went to pick her out of the litter, and I was SOOOO happy. Brings a tear to my eye :*)
i remember waiting for my dad to get home from work and then napping with him on the couch :)
a fun memory...being the first kid to fill up an old barrel with the initial warm water out of the hose and splashing and playing about in that barrel of warm water, or cold depending on if you were first or not!
A childhood memory is playing on the beach at my grandparents house during the summer. I could just play out there forever.
going to mcdonalds and riding on the merry-go-round...
I spent the weekend with my cousins and it reminded me of spending time together when we were kids. We used to go to Long Beach Island in the summer and go swimming and biking. It was such a fun relaxing time together. Life is so busy these days and it was great talking about the good old days from when we were kids.
One of my fav memories of childhood was visiting my great-grandparents at their store and them filling up little bags of candy for me and my sister when we'd leave. For some reason, my mom would always tell them not to do it, but thank goodness my great gran never listened to her :)!
I remember playing "store" with my sisters and using rocks as our money.
Some of my favorite memories come from family road trips and picnics at random spots. To this day certain songs and foods remind me of our family adventures.
Not easy to choose just one, luckily I have many happy memories, but here's one: joining my dad on a roadtrip up to the north of Norway for a big job meeting. We had many fun stops and he let me have my pillow and quilt in the backseat, and it was wonderful falling asleep listening to him singing along to the radio and watching the lights outside:-)
Greetings from Sigrid in Norway (at a sad sad time)
I remember my mom packing us all up and taking the bus to the city for the day.
carrying around an over-sized Grover (from Sesame Street) doll.
My mom and I would sometimes go on cookie-baking binges that lasted all weekend. We'd make several different types at once and it was fun trying them all and wrapping them up sweetly to give them as gifts.
Your picks are some of my faves from the new releases. I'd love ALL of it! :)
One of my favorite childhood memories playing on the floor with my grandpa. He was a maintenance guy and would bring home boxes of old machine parts, screws, nuts and bolts, etc. and we'd build things with him. He's my only living grandparent and I really need to go see him soon!
I am in love with the new releases also. That catalog is so cool too. My fave has to be the Memoir and I love the wood veneer pieces in Autumn Press too. How fun, a give away... A memory I'll never forget about my father is when I was about 4 or 5 we had just finished washing the car, and I asked him where new cars come from. He told me that every time he went through a car wash he came out with a new car. I was skeptical, but didn't know any better. We lived in the country and there were no car dealerships around. He was always silly like that. Thanks for the chance to win.
I remember my dad taking me out in the boat one day (we lived right by the ocean. I must have fallen asleep because I remember (quite clearly, even though I was only three!) waking up next to the anchor which was in this almost cupboard like space - I guess it had started raining and my dad didn't want me to get all wet while I was asleep :)
My favorite memory was my daddy taking pictures. Whereever we went he took pictures. I have an amazing collection of photos from when I was small from standing at the end of the runway at Kelly AFB in San Antonio watching the planes go by to family Christmas dinners. My dad inspired my love of photography and he left for me an amazing catalogue of memories in photos!
Sitting on the front porch snapping peas with my GrandDaddy is one of my favorite childhood memories! But of course any memory involving my grandfather makes my heart melt! Thanks so much for conjuring up those warm memories!

Sunday dinners at my grandparents. My Mom's whole family would be there (she had 6 brothers and sisters) and all of us kids would have a ball playing together.
Love Autumn Press!
-KellyO
Crawling under chairs and behind sofa's to search for stray coins that might have dropped out of Grandpa's pocket when he sat down. I'm sure he planted a few in his time :-)
One of my fondest childhood memories is fishing with my dad...he had 5 girls and bless his heart would try to take us fishing- only rule was we had to put the worm on our own hooks!!
I SO hear you on the SC release. I never had any SC stash in my possession but this release has me drooling at the mouth. I am so gonna get my grubby hands on the whole collections (espesh Memento...YUM)
As for my childhood memories - most vividly I remember having four seasons and I can still "smell" the scent of early winter...gosh, how I miss this
Lots of great childhood memories, but some of the best are decorating cookies with my mom and sister for the holidays, on of my favorite holiday traditions.
Lately I've been remembering all of the times I went canoeing with my dad. Thanks for the chance to win!
My dad took me to Knott's Berry Farm one day. I couldn't believe that he took the time to take me all by himself.
I was thinking about this today, in fact. One of my favorite memories is that every time we would go to Target with my mom (WAY back when there was like one Target in the US and we lived by it) and she'd let us pick out a cookie from the bakery. I do this now with my daughter (though now the treat is from Starbucks!) and I hope she remembers it as fondly as I do! :)
I remember walking to the beach with my brother and sister holding my hands when I was one and how the hot pavement burned my feet. Yes, I really do remember that. No one has ever told me that story, they wouldn't know it because I don't think I've ever shared it with them.
My happy memories from childhood always involve my horse!
Lots of childhood memories--one is when my grandparents came to visit they always had a roll of lifesavers to give to us.

Loved to play wiffle ball with my dad and brother in the yard. And camping trips in the tent....good times were had!
Love the memories of spending time on Grandpa's farm, milking cows, finding kittens and chicks. playing in the watering hole...
I just returned from a visit to Ohio where I grew up. Childhood memories always flood back when I visit familiar places and family. One of my favorite memories is eating the dough/licking the bowl. Every time my mom baked, we always got to eat the raw batter/dough or to lick the beaters. My kids have grown up doing that too. I'm not sure they even knew brownie mix could be baked until they were 8.
My family always went to the beach in Florida every summer. We even stayed in the same hotel. I always took a friend and we had so many adventures.
Lovely paper collection! I remember those sweet days when my grandfather used to take us around the city on the town bus. The bus stop near our home was the start & end point for that line of service and I still remember how fun it was to hop along with my grandpa who would show me places and shops around the city while I would be happily munching the chocos that he gave!..
I remember eating hazelnuts as my grandpa cracked them. He always teased me that I ate too many...
I don't have alot of great memories from my childhood but the one thing that stands out was going to the movies for my 9th birthday to see E.T.
That was pretty awesome :)
A favorite childhood memory was building treehouses and then setting up everything to play house. Gosh that was fun :)
I remember laying on the couch watching reruns of Star Trek with my dad.
fishing w my dad!
I remember going over to my great gma's in the summer and digging in her veggie garden pulling up baby carrots and radishes. Man those radishes were HOT! I miss my "Nanny" so much!
One of my all time favorite memories is when at the age of 12 my family and I took a road trip from California to North Dakota to celebrate my great-grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. There were lots of travel games played, and I'm not saying TV and/or hand-held gaming devices...we played the ABC sign game, bingo, sorry, trouble, read books, out-of-state license plate game, etc. A two day stay in Yellowstone National Park made it a trip to remember, and I hope I never forget!
I'm reminiscing a lot about summer vacations with my cousins. We used to go every year to some place along the California coast with my Aunt and Grandma- no parents. It was awesome.
Building Lego with my dad. We came up with so many ideas that weren't on the box but they were more fun!
I was just looking through old photos and found a picture of me with our old golden retriever. It brought back a lot of memories.
My mom passed away last year and my stepdad brought over a box of old stuff he found at their house. I had been thinking about when my dad took my brother and I to Yosemite when we were kids but I didn't remember many details. Imagine my delight when I found postcards I sent to my mom from that trip. The memory that flooded back was swimming in the pool at some no name motel on the way up to Yosemite.
I remember playing in the flower bed around the big tree in our front yard. I was more into Hotwheels and toy tractors than Barbies.
I remember climbing the apple tree in my grandparents yard.
A favorite childhood memory is when I was 3 and on vacation in California with my mom and grandparents. The relatives we were staying with had ice cream, but didn't share. :( My grandpa walked to the store to get ice cream for my mom and me and we sat outside to eat it.
Living in a high rise flat means having to improvise playtime. Being very young and not allowed downstairs without any parents, I craved to play outdoors. So one favourite playtime is to string a plastic bag with grandma's sewing thread and let it out of the window. Walah, a plastic bag kite! Gave me endless hours of pleasures. Maybe because my imagination took flight with the plastic bag. :)
One childhood memory that is clear is playin with my neighor, Robert, every day during the summer. Our deal was that I would play Matchbox cars with him if he played Strawberry Shortcake dolls with me. It's probably a memory he would like to erase, lol!
There are so many memories to choose from....I remember pulling the "I can't fall asleep" card more than once with my mom so I could watch The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I eventually fell asleep on the couch, but always made sure to make through the first guest!
Favorite childhood memory is walking the six blocks from the grocery store home with my mom. We'd always buy a candy bar to eat on the way and took small bites so it wouldn't be finished until we got home!

My favorite memory is my Grandma's lakeside chalet. I loved going there.
Love that photo of you and your Papa, it speaks volumes about love. I remember so many fun family times at the beach, our lips so blue from the cold water but still not wanting to get out of the surf!

Autumn Press is gorgeous!
One of my favorite childhood memories is going kite flying with my parents and my sister. My dad bought us a rather expensive big yellow butterfly kite and my mum wasn't too happy at the cost of that kite. To make sure we didn't waste the money spent, my sister & I would always ask to go kite flying on weekends and of course it wouldn't be complete without a little picnic at the park.
Some of my best childhood memories are of the summers spent at my uncle's house in San Antonio. Both my parents worked, so my sisters and I would visit my uncle and aunt for weeks at a time, and he and they would take us places, keep us entertained, and rent us movies. I believe that's one of the reasons I love summer movies so much!
Thanks for all the SC eye candy, Sasha, and thanks for the chance to win!
So very excited for Autumn Press and I am not kidding- I am giddy about the 6X6 collection! One of my favorite childhood memories- my brother and I "camping out." We would put our sleeping bags at the entrances to our room, heads sticking out in the hallway and talk until we fell asleep. :) Thanks for the chance to win!
My grandmother really spoiled me. She kept treats in her freezer & purse just for me. Whenever we went to her house (and she only lived two miles away) no matter what time of day I would get a treat. I'm sure this aggravated my mom. :) But it's a sweet memory still.
Childhood memory? Probably spending the summers at Seeley Lake in Montana. My family went there every year and it was always a fabulous time.
sasha, that's such a sweet story! your dad's a sportswriter? cool. i used to be tv news producer and i'd give sports tons of time on weekends!!! anyway... i remember a family vacation when we were little... where my cousin was wearing overalls... (yes! and she'd kill me if she knew i was writing this!) and the straps, they, um fell in the toilet! ewwww...
One of my best memories were spent with my grandma. When she was still around, all of her 7 children and grandkids will spend every weekend at her place. You can just imagine how noisy and chaotic that can get, but we were so close that it's amazing! It would have been her birthday last week.
I remember playing the old electric organ at my grandparent's house - such good memories :-)
summer camping trips with my dad, his parents, and my brother and sister with a pop up camper, a destination and lots of KOAs.
I love all of the new SC products!!! What a sweet photo too!
I remember the song my father sang me to sleep. " Ay si mi nena se me duerme yo le traeria un ramito de flores todos los dias "
One of my childhood memories has to be hearing my dad calling me his little pumpkin & when my brother would tell him we didn't want to go to school and he would let us go home. Such great memories...
One of my mother's favorite anecdotes about me as a child involves my first encounter with our newly reupholstered couch. I was alarmed by the change in fabric, and thus, sought the previous layer of fabric underneath new outer layer via seam ripper. After discovering, much to my chagrin, that the old fabric was not located directly underneath the new covering, further exploration was prevented via my mother's intervention. She enjoined me to cease that particular method of environmental manipulation. Apparently she inquired as to if I understood her strong prohibition against further fabric destruction, and agreed with her that I ought refrain from such activities in the future. To which I apparently replied "Part of my says yes, but part of me says no!" It is miraculous I survived my childhood!
Totally loving all the new stuff!! A childhood memory favorite of mine is getting my first Cabbage Patch Kid for Christmas one year. I looooooved that doll!! My mom got us one each year at Christmas for a really long time after that as a sort of tradition, but that first one was always the best in my eyes. ;)

When I was a kid, my Grandpa would come over in the mornings to help us get ready for school. I can still picture him with a towel slung over his shoulder, doing the dishes, and having heard us coming up from the shower (in the basement); he would start singing "here she comes, Miss America." He was always light hearted and joyful. I strive to be like him!
Spending summers with my grandparents....having them all to myself. Picking strawberries and having fresh corn every night for dinner...lots of good memories.
When we were kids, my brother and I would hide when we heard my dad's car in the drive way, and he'd have to come find us for dinner. I'm sure we only hid in the same 3 places but it was still so fun :)
I remember going to my aunt's house, and laughing until I could hardly believe. Such happy memories! <3
i remember my mom returning home from a deployment (she was a Marine) and i ran across a big open area with a handful of yellow and white balloons. it's a very vivd memory for me.
Wow! Thanks for sharing so many of your favorite things! Autumn Press is awesome, and after visiting your blog, I think I really would like to be mailed to you!!
OK, one of my favorite childhood memories is listening to my dad read Jonathan Livingston Seagull to my sister and me. Loved the sound of his voice. Loved how safe I felt. Loved the story. Love that a couple of years ago, my sister sent me a copy of the book, so I could read it to my own kids.
I just love these new papers! I remember watching my mom paint with oil paints in our kitchen. She would make landscapes (winter, summer, etc.). LOVED it! THANKS for the chance to win--sbmmhoover at yahoo dot com
I remember my childhood dog, Teegers. He was just the best and I'd love to find a dog that loving and playful and caring for my kids. :)
I remember my dad putting bread in the toaster every morning, then coming to wake me up for school so that I could sleep until the last possible minute.
Thanks for the opportunity to win beautiful SC products!
woohoo....I've lot's of childhood memories...one that I treasured the most is my dad leading me and my 2 other siblings, cycling around the kampung near where we live....
These days I am remembering a lot about my grandpa. I recently saw him for the first time in awhile and he has pretty bad Alzheimer's and has no idea who I am. I remember his 59th birthday very well even though it was 20 years ago. Too bad he can't remember it at all! At least he can remember my grandma in old photos...his "pretty wife" :)
Spending every holiday on my grandparents farm...the car ride was 4 hours long, but worth it to be enveloped in a huge grandma hug when we arrived!
I remember mom making oatmeal for breakfast for my sis and I before we left for school, and she was in a great mood that morning. Birds were chirping outside, so she got us all singing "my bird" to the tune of "my girl". It was such a great morning, and when I think about her, that memory comes up as one of my absolute most favorites.
I just remembering a day when we went to fishing with my grandpa and my cousins! Big reuning family!
My favourite childhood memory has got to be my Grandpa singing his version of Happy Birthday down the phone to me on my birthday each year. It's especially significant as thats the last thing he did before he passed away 14 years ago.
Road trips to my grandparents in Scotland. It would take us 16 hours so we'd leave early in the morning wrapped in our duvets and travel the whole day.
my favorite childhood memory is going to Cape Canaveral and seeing the space shuttle launch
I want to paint my house with Mister Hueys. If that's wrong I don't want to be right.
I've been going through old family photos lately. I found a few photos of me being the only girl in little league. I loved playing ball so much and am glad my kids do now, so I can enjoy it all over again.
i remember playing little house on the prairie with my 2 older sisters in my grandparents front yard & my grandma would give us chocolate chips and mini marshmallows to use as our "food".
Oooh, so much prettiness!
A happy memory would be several extended family reunions. All at lakes in the midwest. Miss those times!
I remember the smell going to visit my grandparents in northern CA (a mixture of all the plants) and I remember playing in my grandpa's shed and with the old dune buggies on his property. My cousins and I had so much fun making up games and playing and running.
I have great memories of playing with all the neighborhood kids, swimming and having some great summers! My parents would swim with me every day too!!
Looking through a window with my grandma, looking at passerbys and making up stories about them.
Awww, that is the sweetest pic and memory! I am having a flashback of my Dad taking me and my sister to Lake Tahoe, going sledding down a hill on one of those round discs and narrowly missing sliding into a car lol :)
That is such a great picture! I remember swimming at the public pool with my brother and friends in Casper, Wyoming where my Nana lived. They had a snack bar and I always got Laffy Taffy-yum!
I still love that stuff!
Watching clouds go by with my friend Monika when we were 11 years old. Good times.

One of my favorite childhood memories are all the summers that I spent with grandparents!! :)
When I was little, my mom + I had this game - I would tell her "pretend you're the big monster and I'm the little monster and you eat me all up!" and she would "eat me up" in kisses =) Love that.
i remember playing golf in my backyard. i would just practice long-shots. purely for fun. (please note that i rarely golf - haha!).
What a sweet memory! I remember waking up to something sweet from my dear Mother on every holiday such as Valentine's Day, Easter, and so forth. She remains in my heart as the best Mother ever! Thanks for the opp.
I'll always remember sharing pretzel sticks with my dad when I was a child! :) Thanks for the chance!
