Don't let what you can't do stop you from doing what you can do

  • I read that somewhere, sometime ago. It's true, you know. I'm guilty - many times over. This has to change. I need to concentrate on what I can do, rather than wasting my resources and concentration on what I can't.
projectlife
  • Photo printer/photos : I use my Selphy for almost all my photos, except for enlarged ones where I send them to the photo shop nearby. I also use Picasa as my platform before printing my pictures - that way, I can just select and 'hold' photos together and they will automatically fit two photos onto a piece of 4x6. The photos won't be exactly 2x3 but I don't mind that because I love the white border around smaller photos. I also don't edit my smaller photos. Saving whatever time I can here.
  • Printing on journaling cards. If I could kiss Liz Tamanaha, I would do so everyday. Click here for the free template she prepared. It makes printing on those 3x4 cards a breeze.

  • Love that stapled wooden butterfly from Studio Calico.

  • Weekly spread : I have no rules set in stone for this. If I can fill a double page, great. If not, no harm done. Just look at my week one - three pages + one huge photo insert, and that's okay. This one here is week two and a little bit of week three. I might be adding a divider for different months later on, but nothing for now.
  • Planner : I don't have any plan for this project. I'm more like 'fly by the seat of my pants' kinda girl. For me, Project Life is my playtime. I say do what works for you.
stromboli
  • And I made this today. Based on the speed that my children and I inhaled it, I can't leave without sharing the link to the recipe. Stromboli - just a fancy shape and name for a pizza according to Lauren, but I beg to differ. Stromboli, to me - is every kind of awesome and I like it much better than pizza.

Love your PL! Could not help laughing at your licking story. My Mum used to lick us if we were being feral with each other. It was so gross that it distracted us from whatever we were fighting about. Time to turn the tables, Mama Sasha? That Stromboli looks amazing btw.

I think when I do Project Life I will have to be the exact same way! Just play as I go with no real plan :)I like that philosophy!

I'm hoping to start it when my husband starts his next out of town project and is only home on weekends. I think it will really help him connect with what we do during the week while he is gone.

I was totally talking to my boyfriend last night about how I need to stop letting things I don't know how to do or aren't great at stop me from doing what's important! I made a goal to Lear how to print pictures more effectively in a way that works for me. Thanks for this post! Definitely the push/jump I needed!

Sasha, I so much love your use of color. It is so gorgeous and always so much fun, and it just looks like optimism on paper. I think that quote is fantastic, I could apply that to pretty much every area of my life and benefit from it. And now I'm hungry.

first off LOVE the PL totally inspiring to me! Last year I just journaled and plugged stuff in, I finished it this morning--felt NO crafty love. Whereas this year's version is TOTALLY different, I'm having and using whatever is not tied down on the desk! :) Thanks for the link to the recipe TOTALLY making this for dinner, was going to make plain old pizza--boring! This looks WAY better! :)

Oh MAN! I'm getting PL envy! I really do love all the little pockets in yours but every time I set out to make them on a 12 by 12 page using the sewing machine I just go AWW HECK! This is TOO HARD! And go back to using the pages I bought a bizillion years ago. I LOVE your photos, LOVE the color and the fonts you are using. Wish Lola wasn't a lonely singleton so I could tell her to stop licking her sister too. ;)
