Saturday With Sasha and Come On Get Crafty - May 2014

Happy Saturday everyone! :) How's the weather like where you are? I hope it's pleasant and you're able to enjoy your weekend to the max!

I have two layouts and a little news to share today. Let's get to the layouts. . .

This one is super busy. Which I feel describe my girls right now. They're forever running from one activity to another. They also love hanging out at Starbucks with Sam & I. In real life, the green bows are the exact shade of Starbucks green. I have no idea why it was so hard for me to capture the real color. Lots of stuff going on here - layers upon layers of papers and vellum and chipboard frames and tags.

It was overwhelming at first, but when I step back for a bit - I decided I love it all! :)

Shop Items : Webster's Pages paper clips, Elle's Studio Penelope Lil Snippets and bits & pieces, Pink Paislee Hey Kid Paper goods Ephemera, Lawn FawnLet's Polka Adhesive Flair, Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party Label Stickers, Amy T Cut & Paste Resin Bows.

On this layout, I went simple - but not so simple that I have no chance to play. That will not do, eh? :)

I let the photo take centerstage, then cut the ampersand using my cameo, stitched the circle label, added the journaling and stitch the yellow border before I finish with a couple of candy buttons. And just like that, I'm done. And this layout is one of my favorite of all time, as of now.

Shop Items : Webster's Pages Recorded 6x6 Paper Pad, Elle's Studio Penelope Bits & Pieces, Basic Grey Candy Buttons.

And on to my little news - this will be the last Saturday With Sasha with Come On Get Crafty. I've decided to step back for a bit - just because, and Nicole has been nothing but sweet and encouraging.  I've been super lucky to be working with Nicole and the rest of the creative team and I enjoyed my time with them very, very much.

The latest and greatest of scrapbooking items are certainly nice to have but not necessary to create something you absolutely adore. I love my old supplies. I purge often because of the lack of space around here, but when I know in my heart of hearts that I love something, I will never let it go, well, except to go on stuff I make.

Just like this 'forever' chipboard piece from Narratives collection by Karen Russell/Creative Imaginations. Timeless.

I bet you have older supplies begging to be used. Go on. Give them some love. I put this tag together earlier today and am smitten with it!

Saturday Sketch - May 2014

Come On Get Crafty May's sketch is up! :)

Come On Get Crafty Saturday Sketch - May 2014
I played along and produced this simple layout with photos of Nidhi. There's a spelling mistake on the typewritten words, but I don't really care. It's not about being lazy, I feel like it's part of the charm. Or so I'd like to believe. :)

If you're wondering how I get my hexies and splatters so perfect - that's because they're digital. I downloaded them from Shanna Noel's blog quite some time ago. (Thanks Shanna!)

I need more of those resin flowers from Maggie Holmes Flea Market collection, for sure. *sigh* Love them! Don't forget to link your projects to the post on Come On Get Crafty for a chance to win some goodies!

The Truth *Chic Tags*

Hi everyone!

How was your interNational Scrapbooking weekend? I hope you managed to scrap a little a lot! :) I was in the mood to play with my Chic Tags and gelatos, so I did just that!

love longer

I printed the digital stamp on the white cardstock before I applied the watered-down gelatos, then

I let the photos and Love Note Phrases take center stage. I aimed for simple and I love how this turned out.

If you've been following Chic Tags for a while, you'd have recognized that clock face flair. :) It has been in my stash for so long and I finally have the perfect layout for it.

I'm not done playing yet - I have a feeling I'm gonna stretch the iNSD spirit a little longer around here. :) I hope to share more with you soon!
